helping you heal
the way nature intended
CULTIVATE HEALING
CULTIVATE HEALING
hi, i’m mallory!
Growing up in flat ole’ Greenwood, Indiana, there wasn’t much to do except be outside or go to dance. My siblings and I loved being outdoors, as did our parents. We were a very active family who spent a lot of time at the lake (shout out Lake Lemon). *Cue obsession for nature and being outdoors.* Nature has always brought me back into alignment. Afterall, we are a world of vibration and who doesn’t want to be vibing at a high frequency?
When I was 12 years old, I was at a pool party and a male friend made a negative comment about my body. To this day I will never forget that moment and how it made me feel. As I look back, that moment defined my relationship with my body. Flash forward to age 16, I was in a traumatic five-vehicle car accident driving with my friend to dance rehearsal in mid-summer 2006. A dysfunctional nervous system + body image issues? Not the most harmonious pairing I’d say. Though not fully aware of the toll these events really took on me, it would affect my mental, emotional and physical health for years and years to come.
I graduated from the beautiful Indiana University (Bloomington) in 2014 where I studied kinesiology and continued to water my roots. I’ll never forget this one nutrition lecture, where my professor was demonstrating the amount of sugar in certain products: sodas, fruit juices, candy products, etc. I was completely shocked at the amount of sugar these items contained versus the daily recommended amount of sugar. I absolutely loved that class and it ignited a huge interest in nutrition. I was and still am constantly reading books, articles, research, listening to podcasts and watching documentaries on anything to do with nutrition, the human body, and living holistically, in sync with nature.
After college I moved to Los Angeles, where I’ve wanted to move since I was a kid. I mean talk about the ultimate nature fix: mountains, trees, sunshine, beach, ocean. What more could a little corn-field livin’ girlie want? I danced professionally the first few years I lived here and have been in the fitness industry for a decade now. One thing I’ve learned is many people don’t know how to listen to their own body and even more so there is no one-size-fits all approach. I’ve had a longing passion and desire to help women find the truth within themselves.
I have always wanted to continue my education and gain credentials in nutrition. I learned about the Institute for Integrative Nutrition (IIN) circa 2014 and have wanted to enroll ever since. In December of 2022 I graduated from the 6-month accelerated Health Coach Training Program, earning a certification as an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach. In July 2024 I earned an Advanced Gut Health certificate and in August 2024 an Advanced Hormone Health certificate from IIN. I’ve been very focused on a holistic and natural lifestyle since college and my programs encourage this lifestyle.
there is more to life than constantly trying to change your body.
Throughout my life, I’ve struggled so much with balance. After being diagnosed with body dysmorphia and PTSD (from that car accident) in 2020, I realized that I’ve never been given the tools to cultivate awareness and intuitiveness around what my body was really craving and why. I was constantly engulfed in the outside noise, telling me what to eat, what to do, who to be. I turned to emotional eating, restrictive/binging cycles, and abusing alcohol and marijuana because I didn’t know how to cope. I was completely out of alignment: physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually. To me, this outside noise was the weeds of my garden. I knew if I wanted to be happy with myself (thus, life in itself) and find more joy and freedom around food, those weeds needed to go. I began journaling, saying daily affirmations, and taking the time to learn about myself. I increased the duration of my meditation practice and fully committed to it. I practiced gratitude verbally and through writing, and I took it seriously. I quit drinking alcohol in any capacity and continued to remove anything and anyone that was not serving my life in a positive way. Over time, being alive started to feel better. More present. More joyful. More day-to-day happiness and overall contentment. Good things started to happen.
Having worked in the fitness industry for ten years now, I've seen time and time again the most beautiful humans living in disgust with themselves. Never believing they'll be good enough. Focusing on the "wrong" things. Seeking validation and answers outside of themselves. Constantly looking for a quick fix. Life is going to be much more enjoyable when you shift the focus on loving yourself and learning how to listen to your body in an effort to thrive. Buried deep within you is this innate knowing. This knowing of what is best for you. What makes you feel good. What gives you energy. What nourishes your mind, body, spirit and soul.
